GENERAL INFORMATION

The terms and conditions of your unit's Gasgen Technologies Unlimited Warranty are as follows:

 

DEFINITIONS

Below a definition of key concepts, entities and parties referred to in your unit's Gasgen Technologies Unlimited Warranty:

  • “You/your”: Refers to the person whose name and address appears on the Gasgen Technologies customer invoice, or dealer invoice.
  • “Your Unit”: Refers to the unit as specified in the Gasgen Technologies customer invoice, or dealer invoice.
  • “Mechanical Breakdown”: Refers to the unforeseen failure of any of the components arising from mechanical and/or electrical failure, causing a sudden stoppage of their functions and necessitating repair and/or replacement.
  • “Cost of repair”: Refers to the usual and reasonable charges for components and/or labour to repair or replace the damaged component(s).
  • “Authorised Dealer”: Refers to a Gasgen Technologies Authorised Dealer appointed by the Manufacturer to sell new and/or used units marketed from time to time by the Manufacturer, also appointed to perform servicing and any repairs which are deemed necessary.
  • “Administrator”: Refers to an appointed representative of Gasgen Technologies (Pty) Ltd.
  • “Manufacturer'': Refers to Gasgen Technologies (Pty) Ltd.
  • “Cover”: Refers to your unit’s Gasgen Technologies Unlimited Warranty.

 

THE GASGEN UNLIMITED WARRANTY

  1. Your Gasgen Technologies dual-fuel carburetor is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship.
  2. This warranty covers only defects arising under normal use and does not include malfunctions or failures resulting from misuse, abuse, neglect, alteration, or repairs by unauthorized persons.
  3. In the event of a defect covered by this warranty, the dual-fuel carburetor will be repaired or replaced at the option of the manufacturer.
  4. This warranty does not cover any labour charges incurred in diagnosis, removal, or reinstallation of the dual-fuel carburetor.
  5. The warranty does not cover any damage or defects resulting from the use of fuels other than liquid petroleum gas (LPG) or natural gas, or from the use of contaminated or poor-quality fuels.
  6. This warranty is valid only for the original purchaser and is not transferable.
  7. To qualify for the warranty, kindly register your Gasgen Technologies unit. Please scan the QR code below and register your unit on our warranty page.
  8.  This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. 
  9. Any warranty claim must be accompanied by proof of purchase and a description of the problem.

 

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. These terms and conditions shall also incorporate as expressed terms and conditions for all the contents of your unit's Gasgen Technologies Unlimited Warranty, which you will be deemed to have been read and understood.
  2. It is agreed and declared that the Administrator, will be released from all liability and obligations under your unit's Gasgen Technologies Unlimited Warranty if the terms and conditions of your unit's Gasgen Technologies Unlimited Warranty are not fully complied with.
  3. All claims must be reported to the Administrator immediately. In the event of a breakdown after hours, over a weekend or a public holiday, the claim must be reported to the Administrator on the next working day. Failure to do so may invalidate the claim.
  4. All products are to be registered within 30 days of the date of delivery/receipt of the unit.
  5. Your unit's Gasgen Technologies Unlimited Warranty is in addition to, and does not detract from, any contractual rights under Statute or Common Law.
  6. You must take all reasonable steps to maintain your unit and keep it in a proper and efficient state of repair and in the event of any mechanical and/or electrical failure you must use all reasonable means to protect the unit from further loss or damage.
  7. In no case whatsoever will the Administrator be liable to make any payment in respect of any mechanical and/or electrical failure.
  8. Your unit's Gasgen Technologies  Unlimited Warranty shall be null and void in the case of fraudulent claims.
  9. All repairing invoices by a Gasgen Technologies Authorised Dealer or Service Centre must be submitted to the Administrator and signed by you.

 

JURISDICTION, CURRENCY AND DISPUTES

Your unit's Gasgen Technologies Unlimited Warranty is valid only within the territorial limits of South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho and Swaziland. Your units Gasgen Technologies Unlimited Warranty will be governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa whose courts will have jurisdiction in any dispute arising under your unit’s Gasgen Technologies Unlimited Warranty.

 

FRAUD

Should you or anyone acting on your behalf, knowingly or otherwise commit a fraudulent act or attempt to obtain a benefit under your unit's Gasgen Technologies Unlimited Warranty by improper means, all benefits will immediately cease and your unit's Gasgen Technologies Unlimited Warranty will be cancelled. Under these circumstances there will be no refund of any kind.

 

TRANSFERABILITY

In the event that you sell or trade-in your unit, your unit’s Gasgen Technologies Unlimited Warranty will not be transferred to the subsequent new unit owner.

 

CLAIM PROCEDURE

In the event of a mechanical and/or electrical failure which may result in a claim, you must at your own expense:

  • Notify the Administrator, via email or telephonically on the details provided of any event resulting in a claim being made against your unit’s Gasgen Technologies Unlimited Warranty;
  • Provide the Administrator with such proof and information as required to process the claim;
  • The Administrator may recommend a Gasgen Technologies Authorised Dealer or Service Centre in your preferred area who have conformed to the stringent requirements of the Administrator’s Approved Panel. You may choose a Gasgen Technologies Authorised Dealer or Service Centre;
  • All repair work must be authorised in advance by the Administrator; failure to obtain prior authorisation before repair work has been started will invalidate your claim;
  • You will not be liable for any excess payments when lodging a claim.

 

Information necessary when reporting a claim:

  • Owner's name;
  • Unit's Model number;
  • Date of purchase;
  • Place of purchase;
  • Nature of mechanical failure/breakdown (fault, cause, remedy);
  • Address where unit can be inspected;
  • Service records and/or invoices.
  • Should it be necessary to disassemble any component to establish the cause or extent of the damage, it is your responsibility to authorise such disassembly to establish whether there is any liability under your unit's Gasgen Technologies Unlimited Warranty. The cost for disassembly to ascertain the cause of failure will be for your own account should the claim not be covered.
  • The Administrator reserves the right to inspect your unit and failure before repair/replacement authorisation is granted.
  • After the work has been completed by the Gasgen Technologies Authorised Dealer or Service Centre, you must inspect the unit to ensure that the work is complete and satisfactory in all respects.
  • Please ensure that the Gasgen Technologies Authorised Dealer or Service Centre submits all repair invoice(s) signed by you, to the Administrator via email, or post within 30 days after the completion of repairs, failing which the claim will not be considered and you will be liable for the repair cost.
  • Should your claim be rejected, you are entitled to request a full explanation from the Administrator.
